Balgopal
“Bali” Gangadharan, the owner and president of Reperio-Tech has over 22 years
experience in the healthcare and allied industries. Bali was a director-level
scientist until recently within R&D at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
He has spent approximately 17 years in
scientific roles with major emphasis on innovation, IP creation, technology and
product evaluations for in-licensing, third-party capability assessments, and
long-term research in multiple Cx and Rx therapeutic areas. He also has over 5 years of project and
portfolio management experience with particular focus on cross-functional
strategic activities. Bali has successful
interacted with practically all functional groups and at all “levels” within GSKCH
due to direct interactions within the in-licensing and program management
roles. He has deep and broad
understanding of drug delivery-, polymer- and controlled-release- technologies
and consumer insights in the healthcare space.
Bali had direct responsibility supporting the denture care, cold sores, smoking
cessation, weight management, gastrointestinal, respiratory and new opportunities
groups.
Bali is the inventor or co-inventor on 7 US and
5 International patents in the areas of bioadhesion and healthcare
products. One of his inventions, a
skincare/dermatological product had been in the US and UK market in the
mid-nineties (later over-taken by a next-generation product). He has personally identified over a dozen
technology locator entities and reviewed hundreds of technologies over the past
two decades in the areas of polymeric materials, drug delivery systems,
cosmetic, drug and device products including advanced, high-tech products in health care applications.
Prior to joining SmithKline Beecham (now
GlaxoSmithKline) in 1990, Bali was a Research Pharmacist at GAF Corporation
(now International Specialty Products), where he was involved in polymer
research applications geared towards the healthcare industry.
Bali has personal contacts with inventors,
universities, prototype product developers, molecule synthesis chemists,
imaging companies, venture fund managers, several technology locator companies
and subject matter experts- some of
these informal relationships are currently in the process of being contractually-formalized. He is uniquely qualified to deliver to your healthcare-related
technology sourcing and commercialization needs.
Bali holds an MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences
(Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery) from the University of Cincinnati, a Master
of Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry) and a Bachelor of Pharmacy
degree from the University of Bombay. He
also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute
of Technology, NJ. He is a member of the
American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS), Licensing Executive
Society (LES) and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
