Bali was a director-level scientist until recently within R&D at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.  He has spent approximately 17 years in scientific roles with major emphasis on innovation, IP creation, technology and product evaluations for in-licensing, third-party capability assessments, and long-term research in multiple Cx and Rx therapeutic areas.  He also has over 5 years of project and portfolio management experience with particular focus on cross-functional strategic activities.  Bali has successful interacted with practically all functional groups and at all “levels” within GSKCH due to direct interactions within the in-licensing and program management roles.  He has deep and broad understanding of drug delivery-, polymer- and controlled-release- technologies and consumer insights in the healthcare space.  Bali had direct responsibility supporting the denture care, cold sores, smoking cessation, weight management, gastrointestinal, respiratory and new opportunities groups.

Bali is the inventor or co-inventor on 7 US and 5 International patents in the areas of bioadhesion and healthcare products.  One of his inventions, a skincare/dermatological product had been in the US and UK market in the mid-nineties (later over-taken by a next-generation product).  He has personally identified over a dozen technology locator entities and reviewed hundreds of technologies over the past two decades in the areas of polymeric materials, drug delivery systems, cosmetic, drug and device products including advanced, high-tech  products in health care applications.

Prior to joining SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline) in 1990, Bali was a Research Pharmacist at GAF Corporation (now International Specialty Products), where he was involved in polymer research applications geared towards the healthcare industry.

Bali has personal contacts with inventors, universities, prototype product developers, molecule synthesis chemists, imaging companies, venture fund managers, several technology locator companies and  subject matter experts- some of these informal relationships are currently in the process of being contractually-formalized.  He is uniquely qualified to deliver to your healthcare-related technology sourcing and commercialization needs.

Bali holds an MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery) from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry) and a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Bombay.  He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ.  He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS), Licensing Executive Society (LES) and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
